Peachtree City

Even though many top companies set up offices and provide multiple employment opportunities here.
Money magazine and CNN consistently rank Peachtree City as one of the “Best Places to Live.” Low unemployment rates, high student test scores, and the low crime rate play a role in that and make it an ideal place to raise a family. Peachtree City may only be 30 minutes south of Atlanta, but there is so much to do here you may forget all about the big city. There are hundreds of shops and restaurants, numerous parks, and ample recreational activities. Even though many top companies set up offices and provide multiple employment opportunities here, the city still offers a very laid-back way of life.

History of Peachtree City

Unlike most Metro Atlanta cities, Peachtree City does not have roots that date back to before the Civil War. As a matter of fact, no one even thought of it until the 1950s. Several real estate developers got together and created a plan for a vision they had. They bought 12,000 acres south of Atlanta and received a charter on March 9, 1959. The city would eventually be made up of five individual villages with schools, parks, and shops in each one, and feature miles of paved golf cart-friendly paths to help slow down the pace of life.
